My favourite workout songs

Everyone needs that extra little motivation when working out right? the right music can always give you a little boost and make you work harder, even for only a few minutes. I’ve put my favourite songs together that I listen to when I’m in the gym or out running.

After finding out about a competition by Pure Gym to put the best workout playlist together (I read about it on Lucy Lunge’s blog), I decided to enter myself and show which songs I find the most motivating/inspirational.

lois-running

Me running with my pal Emma

Gonna fly now

The theme tune from Rocky, no one can say this doesn’t give them a last minute kick in the butt! I tend to have this towards the end of my workout, so when I’m slowing down this gets going and pumps me again:

DOA

Foo Fighters – DOA . Again, one for the end of a workout, blast it up and you’ll see why:

Good Feeling

Some people hate Flo Rida (I absolutely love his GDFR track!), but you can’t deny he makes some cool tunes for running to, especially “Good Feeling”:

The Man

Alloe Black’s “The Man”, is good for the start of your playlist – it gets you feeling good about yourself, so it’s ideal for the first mile of any run:

Call on me

OK so the video is perfect for guys to watch, but it’s also a decent tune to run to – just try and forget about the Lycra outfits when you’re working out!

Can’t hold us

Macklemore & Ryan Lewis’ “cant hold us” is one of my favourites to get you in the mood – put it near the start of your playlist to get you pumped:

Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger

If there was ever a song apt for a workout, it’s this one:

Sleep all day, party all night

Most of you probably know this from the inbetweeners movie (at the end), but it’s so upbeat it’s great for keeping you moving when you’re slacking:

Welcome to the jungle

Finally, to remind us that it’s tough (without saying it’s a jungle out there!),  good ol’ Guns N Roses created the perfect first track to any workout playlist:

What do you reckon to these? agree or disagree? let me know in the comments below!
