Five Ways Daily Fitness Can Better Your Life

If you aren’t get some physical activity in each and every day, and no, getting out of bed doesn’t count. You are essentially shortening your lifespan. In fact, studies have shown that just the simple act of sitting is worse for your health than smoking cigarettes. So why are you still sitting down?

If you talk to your doctor, it’s likely they will suggest that you get at least twenty minutes a day of exercise, every single day. If you think about it, that’s not much. But you should try to switch it up, like cardio one day, weights the next, then a walk the third day, and repeat. Here are some of the reasons you want to do this.

Strengthen Your Body

One of the great things about fitness is that it strengthens your muscles. Muscles are what keep you able to move. Without leg muscles you wouldn’t be able to stand, and without arm muscles you wouldn’t be able to pick things up.

Depending on what part of body you want to help strengthen, there are different exercises that you can do. Pilates is a great form of exercise that can work with any muscle in your body, but it’s also great for strengthening your core.

Make You More Flexible

You’ll also find that the more you exercise the more flexible you’ll become. You’re loosening up those muscles so that they can move better. One form of fitness that will really help with both flexibility and balance is yoga, which is easy for anyone to do.

Give You More Energy

Cardio fitness releases endorphins in your brain, which give you what they call a “runner’s high.” These feel good hormones make you happy and boost your energy. Even if you aren’t doing cardio, you’ll notice that a while after you’ve established your routine you will have more energy throughout the entire day. Don’t exercise before bed though, unless you like insomnia.

Boost Your Confidence

Lost weight and toned muscles can do a lot for a boost in confidence, and even more energy can help with your mood and how you feel about yourself. Even if you’re not doing it to lose weight, fitness will make you feel good because you know you’re doing something good for your health.

Give You A Healthy Hobby

If you’re busy with your awesome workout schedule, you’ll be less likely to have time for negative things. That makes getting exercise a new healthy habit and a hobby. It’s far better for you then watching TV! It’s easy to do, can be completely free, and it can be the perfect cure for boredom.

Find time for 20 minutes of exercise every day, even if it’s just taking the dog for a walk or playing tag with your kids.
